Day 2 of fixing user activation for an early-stage startup. After getting the context of the product from the client's POV, it was time to go into the market and find out what our audience is complaining about. Now, ordinarily, this would take at least 2-3 days and over 20 hours of solid work digging through forums, social media posts, and so on. Instead, I just wrote a detailed, deep research prompt and fed it into ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. I ran this for both individual users and business users, so 6 reports in total. Each report included at least 20-30 direct quotes from user comments, user reviews, and other sources. My favourite part was adding specific instructions to look for evidence that disproves what we are researching. That was how I was able to remove confirmation bias. And bro, the results were CRAZY! I found that collecting reviews is a huge problem. Apparently, review requests have an industry average of 5% completion rate. And the worst part was that many freelancers complained that clients often just say "write it for me," and that's it. (P.S This will become very, very important later. Another problem is that, for most freelancers, their reviews are scattered across so many platforms. Screenshots, LinkedIn recommendations, your website.....it's a whole mess. Another interesting insight was the state of the competition. One of them was called out for charging $1,500 per month and sending you bot traffic in an attempt to justify the price. Another tool was called an "extortion racket"....interesting. That made me think of how we can frame this product. Not just as a way to get a review, but as a way to become trusted. If you want to see the prompt that I used for this research, RT and comment "Research," and I'll send it over to you. It does a good job of capturing how I think when diagnosing the market for a new product See you tomorrow for Day 3.

I closed a new client on Upwork last week. $30/hour at 20 hours per week. It's an early stage startup with a promising product but a huge problem. 50 people have signed up for the product, but none of them have done ANYTHING with the product. They're just....sitting there. And so my job is to figure out how to re-activate them within the next 2 weeks. Sounds like a growth problem right??? Wrong. It's much much deeper than that, and it's a problem I see almost constantly with early-stage products. Before we started officially, I jumped on a call with the founder and got him to walk me through the product. I wanted a full demo to see it from his perspective. He showed me everything. Profiles, trust scores, badges, verification, automated workflows, integrations. The works. It took him 65 minutes. About halfway through, I asked him one question. If someone signs up right now, what's the ONE thing you want them to do first? He paused…..Then he started listing six things. That's the problem. They’ve built 20+ features, but a new user landing in the app can't connect any of it to their actual problem. The product has completely outgrown the story around it. That's how I know this isn't a growth problem. The product works. But there's a massive gap between what it can do and what someone understands in their first 5 minutes. That's a positioning problem. And that's what I'm fixing. So over the next few weeks, I'm going to drop daily updates on what I'm doing to fix it, and more importantly, how I'm using AI to move much much faster. For example, I took the transcript of that demo and put it into claude. It helped me breakdown and articulate the real problem I will be solving, as well as design the plan I’m going to be following over the next 2-4 weeks. I have more gist for you tomorrow. 😂😂 If you've ever wondered how people actually diagnose and fix problems for clients, I'm inviting you inside my brain to see how I work. Hit the follow button and RT so more people can see this. This should be fun

LinkedIn people will go to ChatGPT and ask it to create a content strategy for posting for 1 year on LinkedIn and then just copy and paste what they get 3x a week while commenting ‘apt’ and ‘I absolutely agree’ and ‘spot on’ + some more AI generated paragraph🤦🏾‍♀️

To be honest, if you’ve ever tried editing videos with motion graphics, you know how difficult it is to sit with complex software and create each motion design before adding it to a video. I made this article to show you how to create those motion graphics using AI. You should check it out.

Frame 2 & 3 is a new Tiktok account for a small business I’ve been managing for 2/3 months now while frame 1 is a personal account. My client and I were very intentional about long-term growth, not “increase followers” 🫩We set actual goals to guide our content i.e conversations, trust, visibility, knowing sales would definitely follow. Those goals guided our content strategy and each piece of content achieved at least one of those goals and for a new account, the results are already evident.🙂‍↔️
