We love literacy centers! Ss had fun challenging themselves to make @FlyleafLiteracy words w/ letter tiles & Lego. At another center, friends also worked on writing sentences using our success criteria & took turns reading familiar books to one another. Well done! @StIsabelOCSB

Today we enjoyed going on a nature walk using our five senses. Ss documented their findings and collaborated together to create and extend patterns outdoors. In the afternoon, our classes enjoyed playing a round of wheel of knowledge with Mr. G!

Today we began our literacy centers! Our friends had lots of fun rotating to different learning activities. Later in the afternoon, we created our own hopscotch designs/number patterns & had a beautiful discussion about God’s creations. 🌍 @mrgrisongrade1 @StIsabelOCSB

We began our Math centers today! Students used their collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills to work together and share their thinking and learning with one another. Well done! @mrgrisongrade1 @StIsabelOCSB 👏🏻

Our Grade 1 friends are learning all about patterns! Today they practised making growing patterns using a variety of materials. Ss later extended their learning outdoors by drawing and creating patterns with their peers. Well done! @mrgrisongrade1 @StIsabelOCSB 🤍

Our Gr. 1 friends have been using their collaboration & critical thinking skills to create, label & extend patterns! They have also been learning about hibernation, how to write simple procedures & love having some special play time during our calming in routine! @mrgrisongrade1

We started our @FlyleafLiteracy book “I am Sam” & learned some new words together. Later in the day, we played some balancing, throwing & catching games in the gym, participated in some numeracy activities & wrote about ways we can be Good Samaritans in our learning journals. 🤍

Today we discussed the importance of our feelings, wrote about the people we have in our hearts, we played number games & created patterns using a variety of materials & loose parts. Later in the day we enjoyed the beautiful weather & played some fun activities outside w/ Mr. G!

We had a wonderful Wednesday! Ss wrote about their special character traits, we had a classroom discussion about what it means to be a school family, we made number & nature patterns & used our critical thinking & collaboration skills to play Math & Gym games w/ one another. 🤍

Today was a very special day! We enjoyed reconnecting w/ one another & building new relationships w/ our peers. Ss created classroom promises, listened to read alouds, practised calming in time & had lots of fun outside during recess time! @StIsabelOCSB #ocsbFirstDay 🤍
