@number_6teen A sale or two could enable us to have a proper rebuild, but I think selling that many would cause more problems than it’s worth & tear apart a team that isn’t too far away from being very good.

Of course, good players will be linked with good clubs, and that mixed in with the prospect of Newcastle not being in Europe next season = a window for some to test our resolve. But the sheer volume of links to the Premier League’s “big six” is relentless… #NUFC

⚫️⚪️ Looking at Newcastle's post-takeover project as a whole, how far we've come and how far we've still got to go, I think some middle ground is needed. ✅ Since 2021, we've won a trophy, made another final, reached a semi this season, qualified for the Champions League twice via the league, battered PSG, pushed Barcelona in the last 16 for 75% of the tie and signed some top players in a squad that's so often been tight-knit, together and well managed by Eddie Howe. But there has to be some balance to this. ❌ To be one of THE best clubs on the planet by 2030 (Hopkinson's words), suggesting we'd be competing consistently at the very top, we still have a long, long way to go. Staveley talked about us winning it all, Al-Rumayyan made the 'No.1' claim early in the project, and Hopkinson said similar last month with his bold '2030' statement. Ambition is great, but we need to see so much more, on and off the pitch, to make these wild dreams anything close to a reality over the next four years. While the early days post-takeover felt near perfect, from ideal appointments to on-field recruitment, recent windows and staff turnover have been a mess, as have too many performances on the pitch, which is on the players and manager. A huge period awaits to get this project back on track. #NUFC

@StevenM91505424 The score line doesn't change any of that I just said. Were were brilliant in the home leg and very competitive in tonight's first half. That's 75% of the tie. It was tonight's second half (and the late penalties) that created the cricket score.
