The Toronto Raptors are converting two-way guard AJ Lawson to a standard NBA contract for the remainder of the season and the playoffs, Todd Ramasar and Mike Simonetta of Life Sports Agency told ESPN. The hometown product is in his second season in Toronto.

For real though, Raps need to prioritize getting an elite guard, add some consistent shooters and a backup big who can actually play

@PensareBBall Love the optimism and def don’t think he’s scared, but he’s averaged 15.4 pts, 5.6 reb, 3.8 ast, 1.2 stl, 0.8 blk, on 44.5 fg% and 28 3pt% against them this season. I see him impacting the game in other ways, but his offensive game needs more work. But I hope your right.

I don't think Scottie Barnes is afraid of the Knicks. In fact, in a round one matchup with New York I'm quite positive he'll be the best player on the court. Come back to this in 2 weeks.

@RyanDickison7 @balldenial6 @raptormoments Extending IQ at 30 million plus, traded a frp for Jak and will most likely take picks to get rid of him, etc. Bobby and co themselves create the inability to compete with this roster construction and then cannot trade these contracts as no one wants them.

@lucarosano3 Not expecting to win, but atleast want to see them put up a fight. The main thing is it will show the front office that this team cannot compete, and will hopefully set an urgency to get better talent, more specifically an elite guard, add shooting, and get a playable backup big.

@RaptorsShaq Lmao, this is how I was coping as well. But realistically, a fully healthy Raptors team should put up a fight. Scottie, CMB, Rj and Ingram will all be very crucial this series, if they want to be competitive. If not, going to be an interesting offseason for the Raps.

@tooforwon241 Think it’s more about the way the players that will be on the floor are playing. Scottie and Poeltl just haven’t been good. Atp, Poeltl is looking literally unplayable, cannot defend at all. Not about a win, more about putting up a fight and so far they just haven’t shown it

Pg and Embiid’s contract make it difficult for them to make winning moves. Better to sell high than wait until its too late.
