If you are aspiring to be an IGL; here is the best advice you will ever receive. #1 - Do not sacrifice your own skill for your teams improvement until you are reaching a VCL skill level or maybe even higher. Focus on your game and do not forget YOU need to become a great player to make it in this game. #2 - Early on, below the level of VCL simplification is the absolute priority. You need to minimize the chances for errors to occur through simple map and round approaches. Focus on becoming great at the basic setups, team compositions and map theory. Do not try to win through some trash gimmick that will teach you nothing in the long run. #3 - Select teammates that have similar goals to you even if it means some players are not as good. To become a great team player & IGL you need to be on a team for 6+ months and then you will start learning late stage valorant team concepts that are never learned until you reach that point and even deeper, learning those skills will translate to all of your future teams and are more beneficial compared to short term results.
