Alhamdulillah yet another victory for our EPIC masjid @epicmasjid ! The Governor falsely accused the masjid of operating as a funeral home and shut down janazahs - of course every masjid prays over the deceased and performs some religious rites. That is not 'operating a funeral home'. After being unable to perform janaah prayers for months, EPIC is now able to resume it's duties. Two points to make here: firstly, the depths of Islamophobia and Muslim-hatred are quite clear. The lies, slander, mischaracterizations, and sheer hate-mongering are obvious. For a public official and political leader to stoop so low to publicly and without any trial mention our masjid by name, accuse it of a 'crime' (which was to deliver the religious rites on a deceased body before burial) and to then stop the janazah prayer, really is a deplorable act. But secondly, in spite of the climate of fear and hate, justice and fairness still exists in many aspects of our society. Factually speaking, if a president or governor or powerful politician wanted to do something in many other countries in the world, the judiciary would not stand in their way, nor would they even have the power to overrule a politician's decision. It is a testament to the judiciary system of our country that this is not the case in America. Alḥamdulliah, another win for EPIC!

Amazing news for our EPIC community project! After a vicious and slanderous Islamophobic campaign in which it was claimed that our community project was intending to start a 'Shariah City' (!!) in Texas, coordinated by an unhinged Zionist person based in New Jersey, and unfortunately amplified by the governor and state politicians, the Trump-led Department of Justice found *no evidence* of any illegal activity and dropped its investigation. We were saying this from day one, but Zionists needed to waste our tax dollars and resources in order smear us. Fear-mongering is a tried and tested mechanism by that group. They were constantly using video clips of me saying that American Muslims needed to be involved in the civic life of our country, and of me criticizing Isr@el and defending the humanity of Palestinians, to paint such a picture. Thankfully, all of their tactics failed miserably. I will continue to preach my message: Muslims, like all faith communities, have just as much right to participate in our country's civic and political realms as all other groups. We are not asking for *any* special privilege, but we will not be treated as second-class citizens and will fight (legally!) for our rights that all other citizens have. We are not hiding any agenda: we will will continue to attempt to make our country more ethical and noble, and stopping all foreign invasions and wars, especially its support for the genocidal regime of Isr@el. Our taxes should be spent on our needs, and our politicians should represent us, not a foreign entity. Truth and love wins; hate and lies always fail in the end.
