@NigelWReform

Proudly ‘off-Flint.’ Family and special people at the heart of my life. Animal lover, footballer, and motor-biker. Straightforward - genuine - no pretence!

Born and raised here in North East Wales. No better place to live and work. Now proud to serve as MS for Fflint Wrecsam. Elected less than a month ago - and already getting to work. I’ll listen, stand up for our communities, and deliver for local people every day. @RUKWales

Really lovely to attend the Civic Service at St Matthew’s Church, Buckley with @cristianaemsley for Cllr Julia Jones’ Mayoral Year, Buckley Town Council. Huge thanks to Mayor Jones and her consort for such a warm service and reception — and brilliant to catch up with friends I haven’t seen in years.

We were hoping the Senedd was going to going to play its part in holding the government to account. The Tories had other ideas … 🤯 Watch @LlyrPowell on today’s BBC Politics Wales

The first duty of the Opposition is scrutiny. If children have been let down, asking hard questions isn’t “politicising” the issue — it’s doing the job the public elected us to do. That’s exactly what I intend to do.
Merched Cymru@MerchedCymru

78 children - some under 13 - potentially harmed by gender medication prescribed without proper checks. In Wales, we urgently need proper scrutiny of the Welsh Gender Service to ensure it meets the Cass Review standard.

Cofiwch y gorffennol. Dathlwch y gwydnwch (Remember the past. Celebrate the resilience): Empires rise and fall. Kings lose their crowns. But the Welsh language, identity and spirit endured. Flint Castle wasn’t built for the Welsh. It was built to subdue them. The first of Edward I’s great fortresses in Wales, Castell y Fflint stood as a symbol of conquest and control. Yet, centuries later, its weathered stones tell another story too: one of resilience. Today, Flint Castle belongs not to those who built it to dominate, but to the people whose history it witnessed. Its legacy isn’t just one of occupation—it’s a testament to a nation that refused to disappear. #CastellYFflint #WelshHistory

The people of Wales deserve transparency, competence and honesty from those seeking to govern them. If Plaid can’t explain how they’ll pay for a £587 million commitment, voters are right to ask why. Wales deserves better. Wales deserves a government that puts people before politics. We don’t have that government YET.
Llŷr Powell MS@LlyrPowell

Plaid’s flagship policy could cost the taxpayer £587 million once real-world impacts are included. They won’t reveal their figures because they have no plan to pay for it. The public deserves the facts.

Yn ein gilydd mae ein nerth ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Thank you @JackMerched so much for your incredibly kind words and encouragement. They mean more to me than I can say. Standing in the Siambr and speaking was a deeply moving moment, but looking up and seeing such remarkable women in the gallery, lending me their support and belief, meant the world to me. It was a powerful reminder that none of us walks this path alone. I’m truly grateful for your support and for believing in me. I will do my very best to be worthy of the trust so many women and girls across Wales have placed in me.

@CristianaEmsley @WRNWales How fantastic to hear such measured, unafraid and powerful words in the Senedd Siambr. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact you’ll make in Welsh politics Cristiana. You are great news for the women and girls of Wales. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Diolch i chi gyd @WRNWales for your support at yesterday’s debate and for your tireless work in defending women’s rights. You rightly point out that @Art93229Art is an armed services veteran who has stepped up to serve his community in a different way. It’s revealing how readily some in the political establishment resort to snobbery towards those from outside their ranks. Voters, however, seemed to value real-world experience and public service rather more highly.

Diolch to Art Wright MS @Art93229Art for raising the important issue of single sex spaces for women and girls. There are many new MSs like Art, who are fresh to politics, but have stepped up to represent their fellow citizens 👏 The professional political classes should reflect why so many from outside their comfortable ranks were so popular with voters - rather than sneering at them. Art is an armed services veteran. Surely that should command a little respect, rather than political snobbery? nation.cymru/news/awkward-s…

Aristotle described rhetoric as the art of persuasion. We may need a new category for this week's performance: the art of appearing responsive while answering an entirely different question. From my seat next to the speaker, it was difficult to maintain parliamentary composure. @joemartin1066 exposed it perfectly. I endorse him 100%.
Reform UK Wales@RUKWales

Reform MS @joemartin1066 perfectly exposes how the First Minister can never give a straight answer to any question. Masterclass in dodging. 😆

If true, this should alarm anyone who values free speech. Firefighters should be judged on how they do their jobs, not which lawful party they support. Unions are supposed to protect members from employer overreach, not tolerate ideological scrutiny. History shows that authoritarian systems, including communist regimes, demanded political conformity. Democracy requires the freedom to hold lawful views without fear at work.
Chris Rose@ArchRose90

Very chilling authoritarian move by Andy Burnham. He commanded Senior figures at Manchester's Fire & Rescue Service to have words with Firefighters who support Reform UK, saying it was a cause for 'concern'. Make no mistake about it, Andy as PM will be a threat to free speech.

Was there a silent fire drill🔔 just prior to the debate? We didn’t hear one. But how else to explain the sudden departure of most of the @Plaid_Cymru MSs (including @RhunapIorwerth), the @WelshLabour ones, both of the @Greenparty MSs and the sole @WelshLibDems MS? Perhaps their female constituents should ask what was so urgent, that they had to leave so suddenly? 2/

Nigel Williams then gave a punchy contribution, remarking on how many had left the Siambr, and weren’t present for the debate. That old favourite guaranteed to strike fear into the heart of many a politician was raised - 'What is a woman?' 😱 Crikey, Nigel ... were you trying to clear the government benches entirely? “The public expect straight answers, not careful evasions, and women in Wales deserve better”. Excellent stuff. 6/

Farming policies should made in fields, not in offices. Those who know the land best are the people who work it every day. Farmers don’t need more bureaucracy dreamed up from behind a desk. They need practical, common-sense policies shaped by those who understand the realities of farming. We should be working with our farmers, not against them. Excellent intervention @LauraJ4SWEast
Reform UK Wales@RUKWales

The Sustainable Farming Scheme is too complex, too rigid and buried in paperwork. Farmers are being asked to take on uncertainty and risk with little flexibility in return. @LauraJ4SWEast: We need a more practical, common-sense approach that works with farmers, not against them.

I'm humbled that my speech in the Senedd resonated with so many people across Wales. Knowing that fathers are listening too, and thinking about the future they want for their daughters, makes this conversation all the more important. Women's rights matter to all of us—mothers, daughters, sisters, and fathers who want the very best for the girls growing up today. I remain determined to champion these issues in the Senedd and to deliver on the priorities we were elected to fight for. Thank you for your support.
