Esports is a pretty weird case where 1 - ‘taking a risk’ in something this financially volatile, where 1 player is 20% of the team as a pose to <5% in football is simply financially stupid 2- I would argue esports has more “rookies” per year than any other professional sport 3- Most players who think they are good enough to compete simply aren’t and can’t accept that truth with their inflated egos
