We need to come to an understanding that Ocarina of Time 3D is NOT a remake. It is a Remaster. It uses the same source code as the og game to the point of where the og's beta content can still be found in the data like the Ocarina Pedestal and even the old Great Fairy's model

corny but I do think Ocarina of Time is one of the most miraculous pieces of art I’ve ever encountered, and the 3DS version is the gold standard of remaking a game, so unfortunately I have extremely toxic judgmental gamer brain towards this upcoming iteration of the classic.

@ArazonaRedgrave It's more concerning that you don't know the difference between a remaster and remake. A Remake is built from the ground up, remade from scratch. A remaster takes the original game, fixes, cleans it up, improves upon it. Thus it is "remastered"

@AprilPapke If they imported the entire source code and models, then it never was a remake. A remake starts from scratch like REmake, Pokemon Heart Gold, FF7 Remake. Etc.

@Obsessive_Gamer Ocarina of time 3d is in fact a remake. Different source code. They directly commented that they intentionally had to reimplement known beloved glitches iirc.

@Obsessive_Gamer I know one channel I was watching really prepared me for this by talking about things like why some of links idle animations don't play in OOT3D (just because they used the same code but made one change which messed up an animation and if you fix it, it'll play properly)

Nothing wrong with the Remaster and is probably the best way to play the og at this point (minus the lighting), but in the end it is a Remaster that basically swapped models with new models to an extent, and added a few new features
