Going to bring OpenMHz down for a little for some upgrades

🚨 The OpenMHz iOS App is live! 🚨 Still a work in progress - but it has all of the key features and will be getting better in the months to come. It also works on iPads and Mac Silicon, but hasn't been optimized for them yet. apps.apple.com/us/app/openmhz…

@joeychgo There was an earlier app someone else had made which just wrapped the website. This is a native app for iOS that I wrote.

@Napoleon6501 The text size is an easy fix... the favorites might be a little trickier, but I will look into a good approach for adding customizations/favorites

@fyreman2006 Unfortunately it prob won’t be back. I need some in that area to setup a recorder. Let me know if you know anyone with a spare computer and some free time.

@OpenMHz Any idea if/when PG County MD will have a feed back?

@LukeBerndt @OpenMHz Though this might be a slight annoyance you have to admit your getting good info for the future. Think of this as a stress test. :)

Maybe @OpenMHz is sort of back alive? The MongoDB based calls are super slow. If you go here though - I think you can listen to new Chester County transmissions as they come in: openmhz.com/system/cces

Weekend project: Setup a trunk-recorder server to capture local police/fire radio and feed @OpenMHz - mostly complete. Some bugs to work out. Such a cool open source site / project

@ScannerChi I am - but I just have to set things up so the averts show up in the container. Right now it is manual… and I forget

@OpenMHz Are you using Certbot? Because you have Let's encrypt and I would recommend Certbot since it auto renews

The WMATA transmissions should hopefully start sounding a bit better. I just got my antenna mounted on the roof… and yes, it is a TV antenna 🤷‍♂️

I have been using @backblaze B2 for storing the audio files... but it looks like @GetSpectrum has been blocking BackBlaze URLs. If you haven't been able to get audio, it is prob because your ISP is blocking it. I switched over to Wasabi storage for now

@Chris__4198 @OpenMHz I found out today that with my internet service provider there is a built in security shield that had to be turned off. I don’t know why it all of a sudden wanted to flag @OpenMHz 🤷🏼‍♀️

@OpenMHz why am I not able to hear calls when I’m connected to Wifi, but with cellular data it’s fine. It just flips from one to the next to the next.

As the Red Line is back up and running, audio communication from openmhz.com shows a Metro train in a tunnel with passengers got very close to the electrical sparking issue Saturday night. #wmata @nbcwashington
