@BretWeinstein You’re right to use the word “apparent” with regard to surprise. But you make an equivocation in using that surprise to describe us. Real surprise is different in that it is a demonstration of true limitation in knowledge. That’s not the way theologians understand God’s surprise.

If there is a creator God, he clearly used natural selection to make the creatures. I’d bet he’s as surprised and confounded by them as we are. Just as he is apparently surprised and confounded by the people in our sacred texts. That’s my take.

@jakerattlesnk Serious answer - Catholicism is the largest religion in the world. This doesn’t happen because the teaching on homosexuality has changed. The teaching has stayed the same. But since it is the largest religion in the world, you are bound to have more troublemakers than anyone too.

Orchid doesn’t decide which embryos parents transfer, the parents do. It’s their family, their future, their call. What’s actually insane is outsiders trying to deny families the right to know and choose for themselves. You don’t get to hijack that decision and impose your morality on someone else’s family
