Closing the door to #solargeoengineering research means flying blind when someone decides to deploy - & leaving research to be funded by untethered private capital. What's needed is transparent, collaborative publicly funded research, w/in a primary commitment to mitigation.

Saddened to learn of Roger Payne's passing. I had the joy of researching humpback song with Roger in the early 1980s. He was as much an artist & musician as he was a scientist - passionate & intuitive. We hear the world differently because of him.
