I have NEVER seen a gunshot wound in a child, and have not seen a gunshot wound in anyone for over 20 years.
This cause of death is the result of "choices" by politicians and the people they represent.

I’m staggered by the lack of reaction to the IPCC report. There’s almost no significant action. I don’t think we can get it until the media screams the full truth to the public & I see almost no one in the media who understands that this is true: New tactics needed urgently.

@PethauDel @GongGasGirl @_SameerAhmed_ @NewcastleHosps Yes, there are similar questions swirling round my head to! I guess we’d found out once someone plugs 2 bair huggers, a fluid warmer, diathermy, laser, a WOW and 5 syringe drivers into it!

TIVA, like volatiles, has its downsides.
Theatres mostly not designed for it.
Power points overloaded.
Cords too short.
Pumps won't hold charge.
And don't anyone tell me you never have this in your place ... I've seen it in all 3 countries I've worked in ...

@DrGetafix @GongGasGirl @_SameerAhmed_ @NewcastleHosps Interesting. Our drip stands power up to 6 pumps (some only 4). This would really come into its own when wanting to add a different brand of pump or other devices (e.g. fluid warmer).

@PethauDel @elissaklink this is something we have to try make an impact on @HNEHealth it kills me a little bit inside each time we use a SINGLE USE tourniquet in theatre…worse still when it’s for a day only case, as literally goes directly into landfill. Why did this even start?

@JudkinsSimon We use these in the Adelaide hospitals I work in. Wipe them down in between patients. If they get contaminated with blood we throw them out, but with care that rarely happens.
