BREAKING: Donald Trump gets the nightmare news that he's been dreading as polling reveals that Kamala Harris has slashed the lead he held over Joe Biden — and she's picking up momentum.
This is what we were hoping for...
The new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll revealed that Harris has reduced Trump's lead from 7 points down to just 3. He holds 48% while Harris is at 45% — and her numbers will only improve as she introduces herself more to voters.
Harris also enjoyed a 9 point bump in favorability after Joe Biden selflessly stepped aside and she became the presumptive Democratic nominee. She is now essentially tied in this metric with Trump — 47% to his 48%
"Harris has picked up the easy points as the Democratic Party is now one again and with enthusiasm," said co-director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll Mark Penn,. "However, getting to the next level will mean bringing in more independent voters in key swing states and that’s a tougher job."
It's a tough job that Harris is more than equipped for. She has Trump cornered on the issues — in particular abortion rights — and Trump's creepy vice presidential choice J.D. Vance is already dragging down the MAGA ticket.
It's onward and upward for Harris from here. Together, we're going to elect her president.
