@PinkAndScary @BloofBloofBloof @Visceral9000 No, it's not: humans placing themselves above other animals is a pre-colonial phenomenon, it has nothing to do with colonialism. Hunting animals to extinction, keeping cattle, dominating other species has been part of human history long before we could even write it down.

Maybe a hot take, but our perception of animals is deeply rooted in colonialism. One animal is not better or “more evolved” than the other. Nor are insular/island species of animals inept or weak. Each animal is well adapted to their environment prior to human modifications.
