LATEST NEWS: Kuwait Refinery Fire Deepens Crisis as Iran Expands Regional Attacks
A major oil refinery in Kuwait caught fire on Friday, March 20, 2026, after it was hit by drones linked to Iran, marking another step in the growing conflict across the Middle East.
The Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery blaze came just one day after Qatar’s Ras Laffan gas facility suffered heavy damage in a similar attack. The strikes are part of a wider escalation following an Israeli attack earlier in the week on Iran’s South Pars gas field, a key energy source for the country.
Despite international warnings, attacks on critical energy infrastructure have continued. European leaders had urged restraint on Thursday, but the situation has worsened, raising concerns about global oil and gas supply.

JUST IN: Morocco’s Coach Hails CAF Ruling as Well-Deserved Victory
Rabat, Morocco – Morocco has been officially awarded the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title after Senegal was stripped of the championship following a controversial incident in the final, officials announced on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
Senegal had defeated Morocco 1-0 on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in Rabat. The match was disrupted when Senegalese players walked off the field in protest after a late penalty was awarded to Morocco. Captain Sadio Mane persuaded the team to return, but the penalty was missed, and Pape Gueye of Senegal later scored in extra time, prompting CAF’s review of the match.
Morocco’s new head coach, Mohamed Ouahbi, expressed satisfaction with the ruling and congratulated the players, staff, and football federation. He also announced the squad for Morocco’s upcoming friendly matches against Ecuador and Paraguay, underlining his focus on preparing the team for the FIFA World Cup.
