Portland's youth climate strike on Sept. 15 had a clear message for state leadership: declare a climate emergency. The action came as part of a growing youth-led movement to demand the end of fossil fuels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

TODAY at @PortlandStrike The student march is being led by an old yellow fire truck with a large banner that says Deny the Permit. They carry a big banner that says "Tina Kotek Act Now" and "Shut Down Zenith Oil" They crossed the Burnside Bridge shutting down traffic.

Today Columbia Riverkeeper staff came out to support @PortlandStrike powerful demand to @TinaKotek to prioritize climate justice. The focus of this strike was centered around Kotek’s power to prevent fossil fuel expansion statewide. bit.ly/PYCS-Links
