The @PortofToronto has once again reaffirmed its critical role in our regional economy. Join us as we celebrate another strong year in marine imports and cruise ship activity!
Toronto Port Authority@TOPortAuthority

Exceptional news from the @PortofToronto! In 2025, the Port moved more than 2 million metrics tonnes of cargo and welcomed 42 cruise ships and 167 cargo ships. These impressive numbers underscore the Port’s crucial impact on Ontario's economy, supporting tourism, trade, and supplying Canada’s largest city with sugar, salt and the construction materials required to fuel economic growth. With vessels back in the harbour and the new season in motion, we are ready to build on this momentum and continue supporting a resilient, connected region. Step back to 1931, when winter meant freighters along the Bay Street docks with Toronto’s growing skyline behind them. Nearly a century later, ships that overwinter at the @PortofToronto now plug into clean, renewable shore power from @BullFrogPower. 📷@TOPortAuthority Archives

#DYK, this year the The St. Lawrence Seaway set a record for the latest closing of a shipping season in its history, due to ice build-up? As a result, the CSL MV Welland was spotted unloading at Redpath Sugar in mid-January. 📷 by @Urban_Toronto contributor NW87.
