Current gripes with MacOS/iOS email ecosystem when trying to find a decent cross-platform app that looks good and has basic features Postbox: Dead, bought by eM Client eM Client: Terrible UI Thunderbird: Similar to Postbox, UI is dated, no iOS app Spark: Can’t disable threaded view Canary: Can’t disable reading pane Airmail: UI needs work, limited web presence / documentation Mimestream: Ok for Gmail, MacOS only Newton: Shut down in 2024 Mailbird: iOS app is relatively new and missing features, smarmy marketing Edison: Sells your data Outlook: Bloated Mailspring: No iOS app Polymail: $$$$* Shortwave: $$$$* Superhuman: $$$$ Hey: Whole integrated email service, not a client Apple Mail: Always had issues on MacOS, trying to get off it on iOS *Both Polymail and Shortwave require a much higher sub level because they’re tied to number of email accounts

@albertkinng @emclient @mailbird eM Client let you choose from subscription or one time fee licensing models. It is not true, that you need a subscription with eM Client.

@Postbox @emclient I’m having headaches with @mailbird after switching. eM Client is subscription based and that’s why I need to adapt to another app right now.

@Postbox This is annoying and it could be the trigger to not using your app anymore. I already updated the app and this keep popping around. I'm just tired now.

@dalwolf That is controlled by Google on the server. We then sync with what Google determines as important.

@Postbox hi. Every incoming message is currently being labelled as “important” I can’t find any documentation on how to disable. Please help me with some guidance.

@Postbox, can Markdown be used on your app? I'm trying to paste Markdown content into the composer window, but it's just pasting the code instead. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

@CommentChief You can go ahead and deny that request. Postbox does not need access to keystrokes from other applications, nor do we use or transmit such data in any way. We suspect some type of interaction with a keyboard utility or other is triggering this, but certainly not part of our biz.

@Postbox guys what’s up with this?

@mietennet Add the "Filter" button to the toolbar using the toolbar customization function. Then, select a message, click on it, and HOLD the Filter toolbar button. The "apply filter to this message" option will appear. Many toolbar buttons have click and hold actions.

@Postbox Once a year it really annoys me that there is no shortcut or toolbar button for "apply filter to this message" as I miss to the "apply filter" click...it's a shame that 2024 starts like this!

@matthewb75 Try clicking on the contact in the message header; in the card, you have many options. Or you can add your favorite contacts to the Focus Pane.

@Postbox, One of my favorite tools from a different email client, is the right-click menu that allows quick filtering by the sender or related messages. I have yet to find a similar feature in the Postbox UI and was hoping it could be added.

@Postbox I am trying to reach you, but you make that very hard. In your Zendesk support, I can't raise a request because it claims that I didn't solve the captcha (while there is no captcha whatsoever, also, there is no support email anywhere I can find. I thought I found a great mail app

@albertkinng In the compose window you can type command/control lower case L, and that will give you all of the compose functions. We do not have a universal quick bar for the main window. For a list of commands see: support.postbox-inc.com/hc/en-us/artic…

@Postbox Can I find a quick way to access the QuickBar? Is there a way to simplify the process of using it by having just one command to open it, instead of having to remember all the different functions?

dear @Postbox team, I wanted to give a shot to Postbox app, but the integration with iCloud is not seamless. The folder mapping for sent items and archive didn't work as expected and so my mailboxes are not synced. I can not move forward with it but wanted to bring you feedback.
