The legislature writes it's own rules, which must bother you. And no one buys your 30 votes more represents the will of the people, which concern is ironic as you discount "the will of the people" on ballot initiatives that don't go your way. Better sit this one out, Guv.

You pretend to be baffled where the '33' came from, as though it was an arbitrary number. I'd explain it, but there's a lot of math so you may want to have a seat. 33 out 0f 49 results in a 2/3 majority, a standard majority from the many in parliamentary procedure.

Pillen, your bright idea to reduce the 33 votes needed to overcome a filibuster (what the NEGOP calls any discussion longer thaan 15 minutes) to 30, is yesterday's news - nine years ago precisely and burned much of that session, only to fail. Maybe before you were paying attn.

If employees for any corporation out there refused and ignored their job duties even though they are receiving paychecks and full health insurance coverage with pension plans like the Republicans in Congress, the CEO would shout out "You are all fired!!" and they would be escorted by security out the door.
