I'm officially done with this platform, so I won't be posting here any more, but I'll sit on this account name just in case it ever changes hands. Nazi billionaire traitors can fuck right off.

Only getting into them now, so didn't make my songs/albums lists, but these bands were mentioned as similar to Black Country, New Road, so I pounced. Liked both on 1st listen, & they seem to be growers, too. 1. Racing Mount Pleasant: S/T 2. Candelabro: Deseo, Carne y Voluntad

I bought A LOT of great new albums in 2025. It was tough but I narrowed them down here tomy favorite 10 (with 5 honorable mentions). Could’ve easily done a top 20 with 10 honorables this year….

I’ve not hung here lately, but 2025 was such a great year for music I wanted to spread some joy with a playlist of my 66 favorite songs of the year. (Wanted to narrow to 50 but couldn’t). If you don’t know these, check them out: open.spotify.com/playlist/7ceKP…

@sotachetan I hadn’t known anything about them before this year so they were great surprises. Saya released a SAYA DEMO MIXTAPE on bandcamp recently that I’m excited to check out.

Let It Be is such a strange album. There’s not actually a definitive version of it. Phil Spector’s 1970 album is basically a mix, with added instrumentation, and the original album sleeve even stops short of calling him the producer and it’s not like he sat in the studio with the four of them and worked on it. Glyn Johns mix that was released as Get Back on the Let It Be boxset is excellent, though it’s easy to see why it wasn’t released at the time. Too ragged, too rough sounding, and there are some odd song choices on there. For me, this is the one I reach for when I want to hear these songs. Song selections, spot on. Sequencing, perfect. Mixes, sublime. Hearing these versions of Long And Winding Road and Let It Be it becomes obvious which Macca pushed for this project to happen. The intros and ad libs are missing, but the more polished sound brings it in line with the rest of the catalogue. And it’s got Don’t Let Me Down on it, a song that’s just too good to be a B-Side.

Final call for suggestions for 1969... any underappreciated, off the beaten path albums because it's looking like a pretty top heavy year with Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, Who, Kinks etc.

Wow. I never saw CSNY go this hard. Tom Jones is turned to 11 from jump &, perhaps in response, Stills becomes a man possessed. Crosby-Nash barely contain their joy. If only they’d stayed this together, this hungry. What could’ve been. m.youtube.com/watch?v=dIDzA0…
