"The absence of sub-nationalism acted as a stumbling block in the economic development of Bihar. Any movemenit to preserve the regionial market as an exclusive preserve of the nascent Bihari bourgeoisie could not take off. Outside business and industrial interests were/are well entrenched in the state's economy."

The replies and QTs under this post only reinforced that only a few districts (not more than 3) can rightly be categorised as purely Maithili-speaking regions of Bihar, and that there are many districts whose populations speak mixed languages or dialects, which means that the demand for a so-called Mithila state is based only on a frustrated minority of Maithil region and is therefore unreasonable.

In Jadunath Sarkar’s words:
'they(Marathas) reaped as they had sown in the past (Looted, plundered and r@ped women throughout the country) by pillaging the peasants of these tracts & extorting ransom from them.'
While retreating from Panipat, Marathas were robbed & lynched by the common peasantry (& even women) to the point of being stripped naked.
When you realise there’s a reason why entire North India rejoiced at the defeat of Marathas in Panipat.
The Rajputs refused to fight by their side. The Naga Gosain Sadhus fought against them. The Hindu Jats, Gujjars & Ahirs looted the fleeing Maratha survivors after the battle of Panipat.

IE knows who holds the actual power in Bihar now. So, instead of venting your frustration on Indian Express, take a moment to realise that you should be angry with BJP/RSS, not with a newspaper.
