We are a group of people who are resisting the Thacker Pass lithium mining project. We believe this land should be protected forever.
Vociferous early morning Rock Wren slightly damp from dew in McDermitt Caldera Montana Mountains. Wren went from the hopping in rocks to perching on a nearby habitat kiss of death - a Lithium Nevada claims stake. Thacker miner has huge claims up here that must NEVER be developed.
@WLDefense Loggerhead Shrike in McDermitt Caldera amid lithium claims. The hooked bill is for nabbing big insects, little birds, voles, and small snakes - and then sometimes impaling them on thorns, broken branches, barbed wire. Quite the powerful predatory songbird.
Lovely scented indigo & white lupine (L. Brevicaulis?) in the McDermitt Caldera Montana Mountains blooming right now - and full of surprises. Look out for spider talons/legs if you bend down to wallow in the smell.
