I don’t know if it’s my own bias, but I’m still not comfortable with Martin. I see his ceiling as a Lenglet-level player (which isn’t at all an insult btw). A valuable squad player, but Cubarsi needs more.

Desde un punto de vista jurídico-arbitral, el análisis técnico no deja margen a la duda: no hay juego brusco grave, ni imprudencia, ni fuerza excesiva, sino una acción fortuita derivada del movimiento natural de despeje. La Circular distingue tres escenarios: (1) contacto posterior tras jugar balón, (2) jugador impactado tras jugar balón, y (3) contacto inevitable porque el adversario invade el espacio natural del movimiento. Este último supuesto, el de Gerard Martín, es clave: el defensor llega primero, controla su acción y despeja. El posterior impacto con Almada no nace de una disputa, sino de la invasión por parte del atacante de la zona de ejecución del golpeo ya completado. En términos normativos, el CTA indica que, si el contacto procede del movimiento inherente a una acción reglamentaria y no hay movimiento adicional, ni imprudencia, ni riesgo desproporcionado, el árbitro debe calificarla como fortuita, sin sanción disciplinaria. Martin has done really well to at least establish himself as a decent depth player, but some of the takes I’m seeing are wild lol. He will never be more than a decent depth player imo, which is great, but we can’t go halting our CB plans because of it.
