I Believe Iran is different from Afghanistan (shias, Sunnis) in the regard that the US has overwhelming support from the population not two tribes fighting. I also believe that the past "revolutionary's" was not a popular vote ((impossible to find statistics)) if a democratic process was held and not manipulated we would see the Iranian people choose freedom.
