חיל-האוויר תקף מוקדם יותר היום (ה') מפקדה של ארגון הטרור חמאס בצפון רצועת עזה. המפקדה הותקפה כשבתוכה פעלו מחבלים חמושים מארגון הטרור חמאס לקידום והוצאה לפועל של מתווי טרור נגד כוחות צה"ל ואזרחי מדינת ישראל. בתקיפה חוסלו מספר מחבלים. טרם התקיפה ננקטו צעדים כדי לצמצם את הפגיעה באזרחים, לרבות שימוש בחימוש מדויק ותצפיות מהאוויר. כוחות צה"ל בפיקוד הדרום פרוסים במרחב בהתאם להסכם וימשיכו לפעול להסרת כל איום מיידי.

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya: Our hearts go out to the passengers aboard the cruise ship M/V Hondius and their families during this difficult time. Our CDC team began coordinating with domestic and international partners as soon as we were notified of a hantavirus situation. We understand that people are concerned and looking for information and that is why we provided clear, written health guidance to the American passengers through the State Department. The safety and health of the affected American travelers is our number one goal. Hantavirus is not spread by people without symptoms, transmission requires close contact, and the risk to the American public is very low. CDC has the world’s leading experts on hantavirus and is lending its technical expertise when coordinating with interagency partners, state health offices, and international authorities on response and repatriation planning. We will be monitoring the health status and preparing medical support for all of the American passengers on the cruise. CDC will continue to update as more information becomes available and remains committed to protecting the health and safety of the American public.

Hemos tenido una reunión productiva con el presidente de Canarias, Fernando Clavijo. Le hemos trasladado la necesidad de actuar desde la responsabilidad institucional. En una situación de salud pública como esta, la coordinación y la confianza entre instituciones forman parte de la respuesta sanitaria. Se ha informado que el buque permanecerá en régimen de fondeo, sin atracar en puerto, y que su estancia en aguas canarias será la mínima imprescindible desde el punto de vista sanitario y logístico, tal y como estaba previsto desde el principio y como establecen los protocolos. Los pasajeros serán evaluados dentro del propio buque y solo desembarcarán para su traslado o repatriación con equipos de protección, un operativo sanitario específico y sin contacto con la población. El objetivo compartido es proteger a la población y asegurar la atención adecuada de los pasajeros, manteniendo en todo momento la máxima coordinación entre el Gobierno de España y el Gobierno de Canarias. Los 14 españoles serán evaluados y trasladados al Hospital Gómez Ulla de Madrid. Confiamos en la responsabilidad de los pasajeros para proteger su propia salud y la del resto de la población, en el marco de las medidas de salud pública previstas por nuestra legislación. España lleva días coordinándose con la OMS, la UE, los países implicados y las autoridades canarias. Hoy mismo tenemos 7 reuniones para anticipar todos los escenarios y activar los mecanismos necesarios. No vamos a perder ni un minuto en el ruido político. Seguimos trabajando con criterios técnicos, coordinándonos entre administraciones, trasladando información contrastada a la ciudadanía y protegiendo la salud pública con todas las garantías.
