When I said “forcing a WR pick,” I wasn’t talking about taking one in the 3rd or 4th in general. I meant taking a WR over higher-graded players on your board just because the room looks bad.
Also 3rd/4th round WR isn’t some guaranteed fix. For every hit, there are a ton of misses. Acting like “just take one there” solves the room is delusional.

The WR is room is bad. We're in Spyteks second season as GM and it's one of the worst rooms in the entire NFL. Taking a WR in the 3rd or 4th is not forcing a pick when you drafted a QB 1st Overall. Shit isn't complicated.

The Raiders will finish this draft having bypassed WR almost entirely. To me that is a gigantic mistake given the quality of players that were available. The Raiders have arguably the worst WR room in the league and just took a QB #1 Overall. Not ideal. #RaiderNaton

Saying the WR room is “very very bad” still doesn’t change the bigger point…it’s the easier problem to solve. You insist that you know better lol…
If anything, forcing a WR pick just because the room looks bad is how teams stay stuck. You fix the hardest position first, then build around it. That’s not ignoring a weakness…that’s understanding team-building.

Your shit take is assumes the draft is about fixing everything at once - its not. The Raiders believe they fix their biggest hole, the QB and if indeed they did that outweighs any positional need inclduing WR.
Calling the WR room “the worst in the league” is a stretch. It may lack star power, but that can be addressed through scheme, development, trades…wr is one of the deepest and most replaceable positions in today’s NFL. The QB play elevates average receivers far more than the reverse.

@RaiderPlebe Not an expert. But I think it's a genuine mistake not to take any WR in this draft prior to the 6th round. Two mid round guys in particular I think would've helped the Raiders would've been Ted Hurst in the 3rd and Skylar Bell in the 4th.
Time will tell who's correct.

My home is paid off. My wife & I allegedly own it FREE & CLEAR. But today we got a bill for property taxes. If we don't pay it, ARMED MEN will come & take it from us & then cage me until I pay them MY MONEY. So do I own it? Am I really free? I already pay 35% income tax + easily another 15% taxes in: -Sales. -Gas & fuel. -Capital gains. -Plethora of other taxes. TAXATION IS THEFT. Property tax shouldn't exist.
