And don’t think the just the enlisted rooms are small. Low ranking officer rooms (ranks below Captain) were in close quarters as well being in a room slightly larger than the enlisted but still having 2-3 officers per room we lived very minimal, organized, and disciplined.

And if it weren’t for that I wouldn’t have rose to the rank of Admiral in my career. Also I once wanted to fire a young SEAL in 1995 but after a mission and thinking back to my experiences, I gave him a second chance and that young SEAL and eventually won a Bronze Star.
