@AdamFurey4 I see it from a solar and stratosphere standpoint, but it does appear El Nino will be more hostile.

Is anyone actually shocked that this utter clown is hyping 2002-03 as the analog for this year? Gee, I wonder why he’s doing that? He also wishcasted 2002-03 as the top analog for 2015-16 🤡🤡🤡🤡 x.com/bigjoebastardi…

@Ray9590 I think that super warm MC and Indo Pacific water is going to have a real good slosh east. But this totally ludicrous notion that a super El Niño is going to have no effect at all because of AGW/warm oceans? That idea is going to go down in flames

Twilight Zone on here. People are actually latching on to the utterly ridiculous notion that a super El Niño will have no effects at all on the global pattern because the oceans are warmer now than they were in 1982, 1997 and 2015. Absolute clown show 🤡

@AdamFurey4 @mihelich_mike The lagging RONI reflects a continued cool ENSO residue that is impeding the ability of El Nino to modulate the north Pacific, which is detrimental to east coast winter prospects.

@AdamFurey4 @mihelich_mike Maybe so, but I definitely see some similarities. I think what is more important than whether it's 2.0 or 2.2 is the configuration of the west Pacific. If the RONI continues to lag the ONI, then I think we're cooked, regardless of whether or not the SST signature resembles 57

The argument that this El Niño is developing like 2002-03 and 2009-10 is completely preposterous. Totally absurd. It’s not even remotely close, apples and oranges. Anyone making that argument is either A) A clueless moron or B) Completely delusional and wishcasting

@AdamFurey4 Honestly there are very few on here when it comes to ENSO or even general forecasting that I would listen too, their are a few great ones, but most on here act like they know what their talking about, but have little clue, their just spewing to set up their hyped Winter forecast.

Another #PolarVortex split/SSW this week. Our best in competition AI model says increased chances of hi latitude North Atlantic blocking early April that consolidates over Greenland by mid-April. Who isn't excited for extended cool, damp spring weather on both sides of the pond?

@AdamFurey4 That’s the whole problem on here in a nutshell, been in this business 30 plus yrs and never seen it as bad as this yr. Even pro Mets are not held accountable when they screw up, it’s why the Wennies do it non stop, no repercussions, his followers will just follow like sheep.🤡🤡

Not so much as a peep from Joe Bastardi about his monumental, epic bust forecast from back in early March, hyping non-stop about a huge return to deep winter, arctic cold and snowstorms in the east from the “Ides” (3/15) through Easter Sunday. Zero shame. Never admits failure

If (IF) there actually is a super El Niño, it is not going to be “west-based” or Modoki. Super El Niños are either east-based/East Pacific (most common) or basin-wide (2015-16). Let’s not start the delusional fantasies and wishcasting for next winter already
