The movie doesn't really deliver on this in any way in future scenes, but it's important to differentiate Fox quickly from the Mario squad and I think his introduction scene does that pretty well.

I agree with 99% of what Etch is saying but I think he's wrong here. Fox's intro sequence is one of the only times the movie stops for a second and shows us what someone is thinking. It's meant to show how Fox sees himself. Everything in it is an accessory serving Fox's ego.

seeing that Star Fox clip going around and the animation is amazing but god it feels less like I'm watching a scene from a real movie and more a commercial for Star Fox games critics are hyperbolic but toy ads disguised as movies isn't really what kids deserve

@jui_cyapple I low-key think the script was actively butchered in order to add more scenes. The only thing anyone has time to do is say exactly what is necessary to get to the next scene.

It's not the "0/10 death of cinema" that critics are saying it is, all of the characters still seem fun, but I do think it's worse than the first movie and it's really not the direction things should've gone in imo. I hope they take the criticism more seriously going forward

The big deal everyone is making about Fox being in it more than Rosalina just seems... incorrect? I genuinely don't think he's in the movie more than her. If the title of this movie was just "Mario Bros. 2" I don't think there'd be as many people upset about that.

I just saw the Mario Galaxy movie and... yeah it's definitely pure cotton candy for Nintendo fans and little else. They kinda had something interesting going on with Peach and Rosalina but it never goes anywhere. I think it's biggest problem is that it never explains "why"-
