If you are on the fence about going to church tomorrow - let me dispel some myths: 1.) You don’t need to wear something fancy - but you can if you want! 2.) You don’t have to have anyone go with you - the church will welcome you and someone will invite you to sit with them! 3.) You don’t have to know the songs - the words will be on screens or in a printed guide. 4.) You don’t have to be a Christian - all are welcome. 5.) You don’t have to be perfect - everyone there is messed up too. 6.) You don’t have to have a bible - they will have them. 7.) You don’t have to know anything about the Easter story - there isn’t a pop quiz. 8.) You won’t be shamed - Easter is all about good news. 9.) You don’t have to give money - they aren’t going to ask you. 10.) You don’t have to stand up and introduce yourself - that would be weird. Happy Easter!

Live in the kingdom of God in such a way that it provokes questions for which the gospel is the answer.

If Jesus isn’t your identity, but your work is your identity, you won’t be able to put your nets down even to relax. You won’t be able to put your nets down even to go on vacation. In fact, you’ll really never go on vacation. You won’t be able to put your nets down (that is to say) in order to give your family and your children and your spouse enough time. No. You’ll always be at it. But see how different it is if you have a fishing beyond your fishing, if you have a wealth beyond your wealth, if you have an art beyond your art. – @timkellernyc Sermon, Mission gospelinlife.com/podcast

This Easter, I invite you to look at Jesus, consider what he said and did, and ask for yourself what I believe is the most important question you will ever answer: Did he really leave behind an empty tomb? And if he did, what does that mean for you? This video was made possible and in collaboration with my friends at @ChildlikeMedia.

Nate Ament: "It's one of the reasons I chose Tennessee because of Coach Barnes and his faith. ... as a team, you're trying to glorify something bigger than yourself. And, ultimately, something that is Jesus Christ and is God can only lead to good things. When you're playing for something other than your own glory and the glory of others, the glory of your teammates, the glory of Christ, only good things can happen from there if you're being selfless and trying to take care of each other."

Tomorrow we start a new series at Harrisburg Baptist Church True or False? Finding gospel clarity in sea of theological confusion Less and less people identify as Christian. The ones who do are incredibly inconsistent in their belief and practice. Commit to be being there,

There is an ever widening gap in almost every major “domain” of life. For many people, they feel helpless. What could they possibly do to not get left behind? I won’t pretend to be smart or skilled enough to give you a roadmap for bridging every chasm, but there is one thing you can start doing right now that will have a dramatic impact on every dimension of your life. 📔It’s free. 📔It’s readily available. 📔It’s demonstrably proven to increase your quality of life. Read. Read everything. On my nightstand, you can find the Bible (currently reading James), a Spider Man comic book, Dostoevsky, and a non-fiction book on the structure of the brain. I find myself wandering through Paul Pastor’s new collection of poems (The Locust Years). On my Kindle, I am plowing through Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive. My current audiobook listen is Matt Dinniman’s new book about invaders on a space colony. You can do this too. Get a library card, borrow a book, cancel a monthly subscription to a streamer and use the money to buy and read one book a month. I just finished George Saunder’s new novel, Vigil, in two days. It made me cry. I wanted to hug my daughters after I read it. I watched a bird outside my window for ten minutes without picking up my phone. We are quickly approaching a time when one of the largest “gaps” will be between those who read and those who cannot read. We need word readers, word workers, and word sharers. I don’t care if you and your friend talk about loss and grief in the story of Miles Morales’ Spiderman or if you hand copy a recipe you loved from a cookbook for a friend - be someone who picks words up, reads them, and gives them away.

What if everyone is actually destined for hell? When Christian Apologist Wesley Huff joined me on The Diary Of A CEO, he explained a central idea in Christianity that many people misunderstand. According to scripture, the standard for being “good” isn’t simply being better than other people. The standard is God himself. Which means, by definition, no human being meets it. That’s what Christianity calls the bad news. Humanity can’t save itself through good actions or intentions. Here's him breaking it down
