Dubai Cares and Grand Challenges Canada proudly funded the impact evaluation of LEAPS, a game-changing initiative in rural Sindh, Pakistan. This youth-led Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) model is driving lasting change for children, communities, and future generations. 💡 Key Learnings: ✅ Youth-Led Success: Trained female youth delivered high-quality ECCE, filling workforce gaps and proving their role as effective educators. ✅ Two-Generation Model: LEAPS enhances school readiness for children while creating employment and growth opportunities for young women. ✅ Community Engagement: Local support—identifying youth leaders, donating spaces, and running operations—ensured sustainability. ✅ Broader Impact: LEAPS aligns with SDGs: Quality Education (4), Gender Equality (5), and Decent Work & Economic Growth (8). ✅ Holistic Potential: Future ECCE programs can integrate health and nutrition for well-rounded child development. ✅ Measurable Gains: Using the IDELA framework, LEAPS boosted literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional skills. ✅ Affordable & Scalable: At just $95–$106 per child annually, LEAPS offers a cost-effective ECCE solution. Under the directive of the UN Secretary-General, as outlined in his Our Common Agenda, the ILO, ITCILO, Microsoft, AIESEC, UNDESA, and UNICEF, in support of the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth, are launching a Youth Employment Barometer survey to track career paths and labour market outcomes for youth through 2025 and beyond. The survey is aimed at young people aged 18 to 34 years old, inviting them to share their voices regarding their aspirations and perceptions on their journey to employment. It will run from 7 November to 17 December 2024. To incentivize youth participation in this global effort, we are launching an incentive campaign behind a prize draw that will offer 20 lucky winners a variety of exciting prizes, including scholarships, e-learning subscriptions, and blog publication opportunities.
