The Laurentian elite regime is illegitimate. The way federal politics works, MPs go to Ottawa and immediately stop representing their provinces. They vote with their party. They answer to their leader. The province that sent them becomes an afterthought. This was never the spirit of Confederation. The whole point was a partnership between provinces, not a national government that accumulates power while the provinces bicker for jurisdictional scraps. The fix is structural: >MPs appointed by and answerable to provincial governments, not national party machines >The federal chamber becomes what it was meant to be: a table where provinces negotiate, not a separate government with its own mandate to override them >The province instructs its delegation, the delegation votes accordingly >Federal power stops being a thing unto itself and becomes what Confederation actually intended: the sum of provincial cooperation, not its replacement It is closer to how the Swiss federation functions, and closer to what the Fathers of Confederation described before Ottawa spent a century quietly becoming something else entirely.

Message to all those who fret about the economy because of the war against Iran: There is always a price for security. If economies were the only thing that mattered we would have surrendered to Hitler. We didn’t. We fought at great cost in lives and money to preserve our way of life. People who cite the economy as a price not worth paying understand the value of nothing. It is that lazy weak thinking which allowed mass migration. And to those who say it’s not our war: The regime in Iran has caused mayhem throughout the Middle East for decades. Our allies have been attacked. Cyprus was attacked. Diego Garcia was attacked. Yet pathetic weak British politicians want to take the easy route. Some fights are absolutely necessary. The war against the mullahs is one such fight. Grow a backbone.
