Morning all, I’ve spent a while debating how to write this difficult post On Wednesday I was diagnosed with a fast growing throat cancer. So I will be undergoing treatment and surgery over the next few weeks starting with an op on Weds.

Ive just blocked and reported @MacKenzie81935556 for his tweets about gay people. I am tweeting about it to encourage others to do the same. We cannot be passive in the face of such ignorance. We have to call it out. I tried to do so kindly. He got angry.

After much deliberation I have taken the decision to retire early from the police. I'll miss some of it but it is such a toxic environment, both from within and externally, I need to look after myself and family. Next chapter beckons.
