1/ The Big Picture Mind: What Every Elite is Missing Big Pictures are holistic, integrative, self-consistent systems of thought that when combined represent the broadest and deepest philosophical worldview available to humanity today. Big Pictures liberate. By building a mind capable of seeing what’s really happening, you have more freedom, more understanding, and feel at home in the world no matter how chaotic it seems. I recently did a live event to provide what I hope will be one of the Biggest Picture views of what’s happening in 2025 available anywhere in the world. This thread clips the video for easily digestible chunks and explains each piece along the way.

@RobbSmith I mean: how can AI help us think more integratively as a tool that surfaces blind spots, connects disparate frameworks, or challenges our existing worldview?

I’ve never been more optimistic about the future than I am today. AI is the technology the Integrative Worldview needed, and the worldview is what AI cannot succeed without.

Watching this unfolding energy debacle with Iran thinking the same forces that’ve killed our march toward non-petro energy resilience also act to guarantee its inevitability. Reality eats simple leaders for lunch.

We’re being pulled back toward the 19th-century across all four quadrants, says @RobbSmith. History already tested that model — and it led to endless conflict. So what’s the new story that can bring coherence to today’s fragmented world? 🎧 iamtheory.link/2p8fne5e

1/5 Can faith development be measured with greater precision? @BrendanGrahamD1 shares some compelling findings from his research into Integral altitudes: a statistically significant correlation between Fowler’s stages of faith and the Lectical Assessment Scale.

@AnnMcNeal11 The world has the innovators it needs to create a beautiful future. But they’ve been missing both the intellectual resources and the acute pain to motivate them to do so. Integrative AI is solving the first. The metacrisis is solving the second.

@RobbSmith Can you elaborate on this? I am having a difficult time seeing past the chaos and corruption that we are living in today.

@emillively That Q can be interpreted in two ways, can you clarify which way you mean it?

@RobbSmith @ninja_maths Ciao Robb. I'm replying to this thread in order to open up a discussion re knowledge graph building @ IAM. My background is graph theory (esp. topology). Current work leverages AI for NLP (e.g. knowledge extraction) and graph theory for multiscale interpretation/visualization.

@Richard_Flyer You’re doing it. You’re perfect example of the integrative social entrepreneurs who’re application engineers bw a new philosophical worldview coming into being at the foundation and its social impact at its applied context. @IAMetatheory is building ecosystem for all 3 layers.

@RobbSmith, when we met many years ago, you said that overcoming societal fragmentation is the greatest challenge. It’s great to see your work continuing to evolve. I’ve shared my Symbiotic Culture strategy before. I see it as aligned in intention and parallel in approach. Many integrative maps are emerging, but in my experience, even the most comprehensive frameworks won’t scale without intentional relational bridge-building across networks, through what I call a Relational Worldview. That stitching, interstitial layer — connecting people across worldviews through shared purpose, universal virtues, and concrete local action — is my focus. How do you see integrative metatheory translating from philosophical integration into practical civic integration across communities?

Humanity suffers most centrally from lack of a philosophical worldview that can ground differences in a higher pattern that connects. Metatheory 2.0, or what I’ve called Integrative Archtheory, is at this moment the only candidate that might do so.

1/8 Upgrading the Integral Map: Toward Metatheory 2.0 Social scientists have long suggested a link between individual development and cultural evolution and the meaning systems that people develop over time. But until now, it has never been tested with real empirical precision.

Gallipoli. Arrogant & senescent empire wages optional battle against Muslims, half million dead for zero strategic benefit. Loses battle, badly. Incompetence destroyed British credibility forever. China must be stunned that Americans—leaders or voters—don’t read.

@gfodor As CiC, think of the USMC as a GPT. You can ask it for plans, they will sound smart (some are), and it will do even your crazy bidding. But knowing the end goals, the full context, or how to steer once the plan gets underway is all on you. The ‘why’ is political, by design.

Yeah I'm seeing normally smart people say this. It's stunning. You can say the plan is dumb, but you have to be *completely* oblivious to the basic realities of the US military to think they haven't gamed out months of contingencies.
planefag@planefag

Yeah, no shit. Same goes double for all these mealymouthed clowns sneering how there's "no plan" for Iran as if there isn't binders fill cranked out by CIA teams who do nothing but write contingency plans. Total brainlet theater.

@deanwball Here's an answer to your first part, how we *actually* got here. x.com/RobbSmith/stat…
Robb Smith@RobbSmith

How American Got Here... Thinking of new Complex Systems lens for ContextDriven.ai, here's a graphic explainer I created for how the shape of the national socioculture changed to give rise to a totally new system "regime" between 1970 and 2020. TLDR: specific decisions & policies each contributed in specific ways to polarized fracture of social contract between educated, liberal (small-l) winners of globalization and traditional white working class (Did this quickly so I'm sure I left some things out. And my drawing kinda sucks.)

Seriously. I can’t tell if we’ve destroyed Iran. Or they’re having a successful counter attack. None of it in chronological order. Half the For You tweets about it from random aggregator accounts trying to make $4. None of it verified. Add in grok + AI slop. Shit show.
