🗣️#Arsenal legend Martin Keown when asked how he feels about people saying the Gunners have an ugly style of play: “I was looking earlier in the season, there were four or five teams that turned up to Arsenal that didn't even have a shot on target in some of those matches. And it's like, well, and then people saying, 'Arsenal are not really creating', but teams just sit on the edge of the box and to not have a single shot for 90 minutes – you know, that's four games on the bounce during the season. “They've had to be imaginative, and they've had to find other ways. And in the end, it's a dominance of possession that gives you all those free kicks, corners, throw-ins, and then ultimately, there's just so many of them, and they're so good at it, they're gonna score from those areas. So, I don't see that that's ugly. I just feel that that's someone wanting to put a label on something, cause he's a bit bored, Chris Sutton (who said we have an ugly style of play), and that he wants to spice the day up a bit."

@YankeeGunner Our high energy press has slowly morphed into get everyone behind the ball and close off the space. When we do win the ball back, we’re too deep and that’s a problem for a team who’s slow in moving the ball forward.

It’s not getting much discussion but I think a major issue for us is that our out-of-possession tactics aren’t working as well anymore. I think we’re being sussed out a bit. We don’t create high turnovers with regularity lately and we are seeing teams run though us more and more

@gunnerpunner We need to accept when we’re wrong without making excuses and blaming the opposition. It was shameful from Gabi. We had no urgency about us in that second half until we entered stoppage time, you could see the injury was a bad one. No need for it.

Clickbait because the game was boring.
Bradley suffered from misjudgment because his team mates had spent all game trying to stop play by faking injury. Frimpong played sleeping lions in our box, Wirtz tried to con VAR into a review. They were all at it.

@timstillman_ It’s my one, maybe unfair, criticism of MA’s philosophy. The lack of courage to take that risk, particularly at home. We’ve prioritised managing risk over killing teams off in certain games this season. I just feel uncomfortably reliant on the fine margins going our way at times.

Liverpool have drawn five of their last nine and that’s why tonight was always likely to play out like this. They stopped the rot of defeats by keeping the ball for long periods of time (but they don’t take enough risks with it at the moment to create a lot either). Said on the pod on Monday I felt 0-0 likely and that’s why. Another tough game done with a good lead.
