I'm very happy to see Remco Evenepoel riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen, but it's quite abysmal to see how Red Bull-BORA's communications team have handled this. Journalists are just doing their jobs, and if they ask the team management if Remco Evenepoel is riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen, and instead of providing a "no comment", you flat-out lie to them, and they base their work on your lies, then you're negatively impacting their reputation. I have no dog in this fight, but that feels unethical. 🤷‍♂️

@lukascph @BenjiNaesen Yes. Saw several interviews this winter where Belgian media where asking him/Red Bull staff about this. It has been a topic for about two years now.

@BenjiNaesen Probably best for both parties. SQS can focus on their core business again, Remco moves to a team with more expertise in GT’s ( not only teamwise, but also riderswise). What could SQS earn in one year out of an unhappy Remco? Probably less than what they received now.

@ayozevdw @jonas_creteur @Knack Uiteraard moet dit voorop staan, dat klopt. Maar er moet ook echt een mentaliteitsshift komen. Ik volg ( waarschijnlijk net als u) mijn halve leven al intensief koers. Je moet toegeven dat er veel meer spanning op zit dan pakweg 15j geleden.

@RobinMaess @jonas_creteur @Knack Om te winnen moet je net als snelste de finish bereiken. Dan horen druk en risico's op (cruciale) punten helaas bij de sport. Een sport op de openbare weg neemt inherent al gevaren met zich mee. Betere signalisatie, meer BoPlans o.i.d, airbags,... zie ik hier realistischer in.

@jonas_creteur @Knack Volgens mij ben jij nu net de uitgelezen man om dat eens te doen. Uitgebreid stuk met voorstellen ism rennersvakbond, organisatoren etc.

@thijszonneveld Erg domme beslissing. Hij devieert om de draft op te zoeken ( valt een keer of 1000 voor per koers). Daarna gaat hij er gewoon omheem. Hindert niemand.

Timing in this #VAlgarve2024 looks way off. Clear error in Honore/Healy’s time. Sound of couting down at the start does not match the hand movement of the official. Etc.
