Honestly so glad I have stuck with self-funding my startup for so many years. It's not glamorous or "cool" and there are no head turning $$$ announcements...but at the end of the day, does that stuff even really matter?

If you are bootstrapping / self-funding your startup, be proud!! It’s a BIG deal! I hate how ppl glamorize raising VC $$ + often overlook the founders totally killing it on their own. It’s a hard but rewarding path + more people need to know it’s possible. Keep at it 👊🏼

@myfriendjanine I have piles of accelerator rejections. All it did was further inspire me to build it on my own and bootstrap off revenue. I’m confident the right investors will want a part of my company and believe in our mission.❤️

Founders rejected by YC, I see you. I applied 5xs to YC and 5xs to Techstars and never got accepted. Each year I saw the same people get in, get high valuations, and get terms sheets. They didn't look like me: solo pregnant woman founder from the midwest.

Sometimes I can’t believe my son dances with this epic company. Always encourage your kids to reach for their dreams. They may end up soaring. #proudmom
