Remember these biblical truths when life feels heavy, Christian: • God is sovereign over your situation • His grace is sufficient for your weakness • He will never leave you or forsake you • Your present troubles are achieving eternal glory

God invites us to ask for wisdom daily. He delights in guiding His children.

In the Psalms, David sang from his heart, and what we find in these words is what weighs heavily on our hearts. David often discusses his deep sorrow over past events in his life, things that displeased the Lord and for which he is now experiencing discipline (Psalm 51). We also see David overwhelmed by his grief. “I am weary with my groaning; all night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears. My eye wastes away because of grief.” (Psalm 6:6-7a) Even in all his heartache and grief, David knew the Lord God and where his hope and strength came from to survive and cope with life's sorrows. Even during some of life’s most terrible moments, David knew God, and because of that, he had hope. It was a hope that carried him through these times of grief. We see this hope expressed in Psalm 23:4 where he said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Also, it was a hope that no matter how dark it might seem at times, there was always light and joy at the end, as he goes on to say, “Surely goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23:6) Thank you for this reminder today.
