After continued investigation in collaboration with the Sacramento Fire Department, fire personnel issued administrative fines to three individuals involved in this incident, totaling $2.23 million, $430,000, and $10,000, respectively. In addition to these fines, two of the three suspects were arrested on charges related to illegal fireworks. This strong partnership between law enforcement and fire services underscores a comprehensive approach to public safety, tackling multiple issues from various angles. We want to be clear - illegal fireworks are dangerous, costly, and will not be tolerated. We will continue working together to hold offenders accountable and protect our community. @SacFirePIO

Last week, our North Problem Oriented Policing Team (NPOP) obtained information about an illegal fireworks show in a local neighborhood. Similar events have transpired in the past, causing significant damage and safety concerns. Our patrol officers, NPOP, and Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team (EOD) coordinated their efforts to apprehend the suspects with the illegal fireworks before the event started. Together, the teams were able to arrest two individuals who were in possession of approximately 450 pounds of illegal fireworks. This successful operation highlights the power of teamwork between our community and law enforcement to keep everyone safe, especially during July 4th celebrations.
