@yourMHA Ultimately, this needs to be the beginning of a debate in the remaining weeks of this campaign about how all parties plan to create a sustainable, lasting settlement for the social care sector.

There is a recruitment crisis in the sector and care professionals deserve far greater recognition and respect, so it is very fantastic to see @yourmha's proposal for a Social Care Council including. Something we have campaigned for with our #FixCareForAll campaign.

There are some very welcome announcements in the @LibDems manifesto and it is especially welcome to see a major political party taking the challenges around social care seriously.

Every aspect of care system for older and disabled people is under huge strain: funding falls far short of covering the real cost of care, there's a recruitment crisis, and a huge waiting list for people accessing the support they need. This Election must be a turning point.

Pleased to see that @Keir_Starmer wants to ease the NHS crisis. Focusing on #SocialCare & supporting social care providers to deliver good quality care would mean people leading the life the want to lead, staying healthy, independent & out of hospital.
