In the Australian legal system, the primary difference between a criminal and a defamation case lies in the standard of proof. The degree of certainty required to win, and who is responsible for providing it. Criminal cases have a much higher bar because the consequences, such as imprisonment, are more severe. Having extremely close ties to this matter, I can say with certainty that the evidence put forward during the defamation trial will not hold up in a criminal trial. #BRS_isNOT_guilty
