@Shrink_at_Large *that’s not to say charities shouldn’t be doing more, and being firmer, but with collapsing funding and accusations of misconduct the favour of anyone who disagrees with statements politically, the head room is shrinking. Genuinely depressing.

Can someone please hit the radicalise button for the mainstream mental health organisations? Reality check: Being “at the table” isn’t working. They’ve literally just squeezed the proportion of mental health funding despite all the “parity of esteem” fluff. Be more SCOPE.

@AllyFogg As a current prison officer - I can state with some authority that nothing can prep you for the state prisons are in after decades of underfunding. The problem is that often there’s no alternative - we have to wait an age for external resources to be available!

It's an extremely tough read but so important. People often talk about the rates of mental illness inside prison. What's not discussed is the extent to which it is prison itself that is causing or hugely exacerbating acute mental illness. Horrifying stat in here...
