Following yesterday’s post about Merlin changing their policy on Ride Access Pass (RAP) eligibility, @altontowers have today backtracked on their original post and have updated their website to state that this is initially a trial taking place over February Half term only.

@LittlestarRed @TowersStreet @altontowers Because if they left it open and all those with not correct symbols book, would be a hassle to cancel and change then if they keep the same rules or change them. Keeping them as only their symbols means the correct people with the right symbols get to use it rather than lose out

@TowersStreet @altontowers This is so confusing. If this is just a trial why are people being blocked from using the app and losing bookings? The original email stated it was a new rule starting that day and never mentioned a trial. Lots of people have already lost their passes and bookings.

@TowersStreet @altontowers The queues at AT and any other themepark can be a stressful for anyone with Autism. Alton Towers have now lost a long term attendee with these rules coming out. People are ignorant to think that it’s a fast pass. In fact, people with a RAP actually wait on average longer.
