Genuinely curious—why don’t more people use their own parents/kid’s grandparents for childcare as opposed to daycare/preschool/nannies (which seem more common)? Is it common for boomer grandparents to show disinterest in their grandchildren?

@NinaPanickssery My parents didn't want to be daycare for my kid. That's well within their rights. They are excellent grandparents and super involved but they were not interested in day to day caregiving. They travel a ton and have a lot of their own stuff going on. I have no issue with it.

@notsostupid_ I can answer the ambulance question. I had a medical emergency out of state and had to take a two hour ambulance ride to get treatment. It was $7500 and not covered by my insurance.

as a non american person i have some questions for the pitt fandom - what is medicare/medicaid? - healthcare is really that expensive? that people rather go home untreated like mr diaz - why do many patients chose not to take an ambulance? like the rural patient of 213

My 7YO pointed this out last sunday at the Os game. "Why do they have to play a sound every time?" I didn't notice if it was every pitch or not but it's def a lot. Folks dont want to hear club music after every single pitch, it's a bit much, The natural sound of the game is ok!

@ianoland Ima go with Matt Roy of all people. Really stepped into a leadership role where I didn’t think he would. Always considered him an “outsider” of the core group but he really is our best shutdown defender.
