ロシアで行われたフィンガードラムバトルV1。優勝掻っ攫ってきました🙏 如何に長く飽きさせずに聴かせるかというライブを追求してきた俺にとって、1分という短い時間で見せ切る内容を何本も作るのはかなり困難を極めた。しかし出ると決めたからには「間違いない1分間」を作り上げるのに、久々に徹夜などしながら普段ライブでやってる曲を1分にまとめる作業をしていた。 決勝ぐらいまではいける気がしてたし、負けても後から「これコーニーの勝ちだろ！」って言わせるみたいな微妙な形をした自信はあったが、正直優勝するイメージは無かった。ストイックなHIPHOPやベースミュージックを作る人が多いロシアで、俺の音楽がコミットするとは思えなかった。技術では負けなくとも音楽性で負けそう。そんな気がしてた。ましてや勝ち残るであろう相手はその国のヒーローでありカルチャーそのもの。それに勝つのは外から来た俺にとって簡単じゃない。 そんな俺を支えていたのは、去年Redbull Beat CAMPでDJ KRUSHさんとお話した際に言っていた言葉。「海外で受けるとかは考えた事がない。自分を置いてくるだけ」というカッコ良過ぎるフレーズ。 俺はそんなに強くある事は出来ないので、「やっぱ現地のスタイルに寄せようか」などとブレそうになる瞬間もあり。決勝で戦う事になるMICK BROWN氏のズバ抜けたスキルにビビったりもした。 それでも演奏に入る時には1番俺らしい曲を今ここに居る人達に聴かせたいという本能が邪念を押しのけて、気づけばB-Boy Stanceを選んでいた。これで負けても後悔しない剥き出しの俺を置いてこよう。 演奏した瞬間、俺の"好き"が会場全体に伝わったのを感じた。それが本当に嬉しかった。優勝の瞬間より嬉しかったかもしれない。 とまぁ、ここから先の細かい悲喜交々はゆっくり長ーいブログを書いてるので、そこでまた詳しく。 ひとまず今夜は念願のロシアのクラブでの演奏を楽しんできます🥁 #fingerdrum #hiphop #mpc
