@NickMcKim In the past I had leaders in the climate movement telling me we needed to be patient. Instead at GetUp we often pulled the trigger on mass protests. Each got huge turn outs & interest from the govt. Feels like we forgot that we still have an enemy in the fossil fuel industry.

It’s done. Australia’s emissions will be significantly less than they would have been because we were prepared to stand up for a safe climate and a liveable planet. But the fight against the psychopaths running the big corporate polluters, and their political puppets, goes on.

Just tuned in to @SkyNewsAust for the latest shouting match. Incredible. Bronwyn Bishop is arguing that Libs should try to steal elections in the future by changing the system and throwing out preferential voting. It’s like the US republicans - if we can’t win, rig the rules.

It’s not getting much coverage but we’ve got a huge right wing vote in the northern rivers that could mean prefs flow to the discredited local Nats candidate pushing them above the ALP, leading to Labor preferences electing @mandy_4richmond and giving the Greens another seat.
