If the SEC moves forward with a token taxonomy, crypto finally gets some regulatory clarity on what's a commodity, utility token, security. Once the market knows the difference it could unlock institutional capital given them a clearer path in. This could be one our more important signals in years.

Notably, it is separate from the SEC’s pending rulemaking proposal on crypto asset offerings. Once the guidance completes interagency review at OIRA, the three commissioners will vote on it.
