Sooke Fire and Emergency Program

Please be advised of motor vehicle accident on Sooke Road near Woodlands Road. Police fire ambulance on scene, a detour has been set up around the incident please drive slowly around emergency vehicles.

Fire is now under control. Sooke fire crews still on scene and road remains clsoed at this time.

Sooke Fire Crews responding to 8000 block of West Coast Rd for mutual aid support for a structure fire in Otter Point. Please be advised that West Coast Rd will be closed temporarily so fire crews can work.

Fire crews back in quarters and highway is open in both directions .

SOOKE Rd temporarily closed due 5400 block due to motor vehicle incident. Police, Fire and Ambulance on scene. Please slow down when passing by the emergency scene. Further updates to follow.

Highway expected to be closed for another 20mins.

Fire is extiquished and overhaul complete. Fire apparatus now returning to stations. Roads remain poor, please drive with extra care.

Fire crews are still on scene ....reports of no injuries. FIre has been knocked down, overhaul operations are underway. Mutual aid support being provided from Otter Point, Metchosin and East Sooke fire departments.

Fire crews are currently working an incident on Wright Rd.... we are asking the public to stay clear of this area and not access Wright Rd.

Please be careful on the roads as there are some lanes that have debris on them still. Fire crews are still active dealing with some trees on powerlines.

Fire Department has cleared all 16 incidents this busy night. Crews returning to the Station. There will be debris on the roads in the morning. Please take your time driving and slow down when approaching and passing workers.

Single lane alternating traffic open on West Coast Rd. Use caution when driving near workers.

Hydro crews on scene at 7900 West Coast Rd working to clear a single lane.

High winds with multiple trees and Hydro wires down. The fire department is active with many calls right now. Please stay clear of Hydro wires. Further updates will follow.

Watch out for deer on Otter Point Road. Last two days in a row a family of deer is playing it safe at the back of the station one!

Patient now recovered and in the care of BC Ambulance service.
