I can't decide if it's bad or genius writing. Kobeni was definitely set up as a safety net for the story. If Fujimoto ever wrote himself into a corner and couldn't come up with another insane resolution, Kobeni could just step in as a living deus-ex-machina.

@Nexidal @TrevorAllenMD Nay. The whole hook of Yugioh is the archetypes. You could just buy a structure deck, ready to play, and you could add staples or combo cards to make it better, or just more unique. Each is different and will interact differently against other decks.

@TrevorAllenMD Imagine a Yu-Gi-Oh format where at least ¾ of the main deck and ⅔ of the extra deck MUST be of the same "rough archetype". Some examples: performapal-oddeyes-magician is one archetype overall, same with blueeyes-eyesofblue, dark spells are part of darkmagician... Yay or nay?
